Hey guys, i seem to have the very common problem of having my hips/arse shoot up way to fast when i initiate the deadlift. I have longer legs than most so getting down lower has always been a issue for me. I have read a lot of articles all of which say keep the hips down and use your legs more, however they don't really explain how to achieve this. So, my question is, is there a reason other than my build for my hips shooting up e.g is it due to flexibiliy, glute strength etc. And what would be the best way to fix this. Cheers for the help guys
Tj,
Without seeing you actually deadlift, its impossible to say. I would suggest trying to really push your chest up and through your arms before you start the pull. This should help some. Make sure your head is up and back as well.
