Trained at a commercial gym again today and it is always such a good reminder about what separates "us" from "them" and what I mean by "us" is that we are the "do-ers" and by "them" is that they are the "non-do-ers".
While I was training a guy there struck up a conversation with me. His basic intent appeared to be to explain to me why he wasn't like me, meaning giving me all of his excuses about why he wasn't as big or strong as I am. First he started out talking about how his wife doesn't even want to talk about the gym. I didn't say much about it but I thought back to when after our second child my ex used to pressure me on a daily basis to take a year off of training and to stop competing. Then he started talking about what it's like to train after you turn 30 apparently assuming that I was much younger than I am (I turn 37 next month). Then he went on to talk about what it's like training in college and how things change after you graduate (again been there too as most of you know I spent six years in college supporting a wife and three kids at the same time.)
The difference between us and them is that regardless of the circumstances "we" work hard at doing what is necessary to achieve our dreams while "they" work hard at coming up with excuses why they can't be like us.

What team are you on?,
