I'm lifting in my first meet this weekend and I've got a question about warmups. Is it advisable to do a general warmup between each of the lifts? There are 3 flights and what appears to be 34 lifters on the roster (according to the meet website). Side note: I have the Powerlifting Year 1 ebook and it has eased my mind considerably. Thanks
Glad you liked the book!
For the squat, I would do the exact same general warm-up you're used to. Nothing more, nothing less. If you normally don't do one (aside from just working up in weights of course), then don't do one at the meet.
Since you'll already be active, you might not need quite as much warming up on the bench and dead as you're probably used to, so go by feel here. You'll know from your first couple of light sets if you're too cold or ready to have at it.
Please let me now how it goes!
