Dave,
It's Mike that you answered the last 2 questions for in the novice powerlifting section of the q&a. I had my meet today and it went well and I learned a ton. The biggest lesson was for me to be a little more conservative and just keep making progress. I missed all of my 3rd attempts because I wasn't conservative. But I went 6 for 9 and I am now a powerlifter. Thanks for your help.
Mike

Hey Mike,

Glad to hear it went well!

6 for 9 is actually pretty good for a first meet. Since you've never competed before, all of your attempts are based on training numbers, and any lifter will tell you that meet prs and gym prs are not the same.

Now that you've popped your cherry, you have some true prs to base your attempts off of next time out.

Thanks for checking in!
