Just wanted to say thank you for all the advice in preparation for the SD State Powerlifting meet on March 15th.
You were right I didn't accomplish what I set out for in my first meet but at least I didn't back out despite hurting my back a month out.
I was able to go 1/3 in squats, 2/3 in bench and 3/3 in deadlift. Totaled 1294lb in 275 raw class which was good enough for second place. I really don't know what happened to me on squats other than my nerves because I failed on weights I had done several times in the gym with ease? 1300lb total was my goal and had I gone a little more conservative on 3rd attempt on bench I would have had it but I went all out. Anyway thanks!


Your welcome. It took me three meets to get a successful lift in so i know the feeling.

You had a pretty good first meet. Nice work.

3 for 3 on the deadlift is great. Now you have a set of meet prs you can build.
