EFS team...I have a bug interest in olympic lifting. My mobility for the snatch isn't that bad but my mobility for the clean is awful. I cannot get the bar into the rack position. Are there any resources you guys have that will get me better mobility? To be more specific I cannot get my elbows up. Is that wrist shoulder or elbow problem? Or a combination of all three? Thanks guys I appreciate it.
Who knows what the problem is and who cares? In reality, you just need to nut up and deal with it until your body acclimates. One hint that helps my athletes is to hold the bar with your index and middle fingers and let the bar rest on your shoulders (the rack position) while just having your fingers on the bar. Do not grip or squeeze the bar with your fingers. Relax them. It will hurt for a while, but you'll just have to deal with it. Be patient. It'll come.
