Elite FTS,

I have a meet coming up october 18. My current weight is 281-282. normally I would have no problem with a cut for the meet to get to 275 with a 24 hour weigh in, but this meet i will only be getting there the day of. So I have never done a cut and weight in for the same day meet. Any tips for what i should do the night before and for refueling before the meet?

Matt,

If you are barely over 280 and trying to make 275 with a morning of weigh-in, you should be fine. What you really need to do is keep your weight stable until the meet. Don't go crazy with bad food choices, eat good food and fuel your training wisely. You don't have to diet, you just don't need to mess shit up, haha.

A few days out from the meet start dropping your carbs and increasing your water intake. By the time Saturday morning rolls around, your weight should be damn close. Then you'll just need to float some weight during sleep (so go to bed around 278 or so) and just go weigh in. You'll need to get some quick digestible carbs in you that you handle well and slam some fluids with electrolytes afterwards.
