My question is regards to nutrition during a powerlifting meet. Would it be beneficial for someone to take 140g of a slow digesting carbohydrate supplement and eat food. Or to just eat food? my thinking is that since a powerlifting meet is not a endurance event those extra carbs are not need
It would depend factors like their size, how long the meet is, what they are accustomed to doing, etc.
If you don't normally consume a ton of carbs during training, I probably wouldn't try this.
You do need enough to support your lifting though and keep blood sugar stable the whole meet.
