My question is regards to nutrition during a powerlifting meet. Would it be beneficial for someone to take 140g of a slow digesting carbohydrate supplement and eat food. Or to just eat food? my thinking is that since a powerlifting meet is not a endurance event those extra carbs are not need
Eat food and stay hydrated. Using some supplements are fine but the closer you can keep your food intake to what you do on a typical day the better. Eat foods you normally eat but stick with easily digested foods as to limit your risk to any stomach issues. The last thing you want it your body responding in a negative way to something you changed on meet day.
