I need advice on how to train my wife, she has different goals then i do. I train specifically for powerlifting, she trains to look better/leaner and be in good shape. I have no experience in training others and am doing my best on programming myself for my goals, i use the congugate system. Is there a way to tweak things in this system to better fit her goals, or any other things i could add in or take away for her? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you for your time.
Think of her training has your accessory movements. You are not trying to make your main lift (squat, bench, deadlift) better, you are trying to feel the muscles.
Focus on the muscles being moved, not the actual exercise.
Weight will also not be a huge thing in her training as well. Some times she will be training in the 30-50% range and that's ok as long as she's feeling the pump.
