Hi Tom,

My son tore his ulnar collateral ligament in his elbow wrestling and is scheduled for surgery. Just wondering if you have any experience in rehabbing similar injuries and what we can expect regarding the length of the rehab process. Obviously we will follow the doctors recommendations but just to wanted to get your perspective.

Thank you for your time

A little. Follow tgevrehab protocols to a t on home care and therapy. Give feedback to your rehab PT in regsrds to osin and improvement and focus on the positive looking for any little improvements.
Keep his nutrition solid. a good protein intake is necessary. Make sure he raj es exrra vitamin c post surgery, in the range og 3 - 5 g a day. I used liposomal c from Amazon. It's a gel and I'd recommend mixing it in a liquid or protein shake. Also add in vit d at spp 20, 000 iu a day. You can also get drops at Amazon.
Recovery time for strength and activity is individual and I can't give you any exact time frames due to many factors and possible complications. Byt if he's diligent and follows orders he will do great.
Good luck.
