Harry, I am in college now, and although I have yet to choose a major, I am just beginning to realize how important networking is. I have never been good at this, nor do I have the best social skills. Do you have any advice on the subject you could offer me, and I like to read, so maybe a few books you have found helpful? Your eggs of knowledge are always appreciated.

Without hesitation or doubt, Read and re read, Dale Carnegie's "How to Win Friends and Influence People"

I think it should be required reading for ALL people before they leave high school.

I usually review the book once per year, and STILL pick up things that become relevant.

Life is like high school. If you were popular there, you'll do well. If you weren't popular, then you absolutely need to change that attitude.

Lastly, remember what people like to talk about...THEMSELVES! I always ask open questions to create a conversation. THEN...I shut up and LISTEN.

When you are intelligent, you teach.

When you are wise, you listen.
