Is there a better technique for high school girls to front squat better / more comfortably? They are getting 3-5 reps of 95lbs but any higher and the barbell becomes uncomfortable. They dont have the "shoulder shelf" the boys do. any advice for heavy front squat for HS girls?
Personally, I wouldn't use Front Squats for heavy work.
If they are holding the bar in the catch position simply tell them to drive their elbows up as they squat down. The elbows should be pointing to the wall in front of them at all times. If they don't hold the bar that way, change it.
If they hold the bar in the catch position they will absolutely have the shelf because the bar will rest on their shoulders
As for being uncomfortable, they need to suck it up. I understand you can't use those words to get that done, but you need to get that done.
