Chase. Where would you program in farmers walks with 5/3/1? I want to use them as an assistance exercise for my upper body days but I don't want to burn myself out the day before I squat or deadlift. Should I do one heavy day and one lighter/distance day? Your wisdom would be most appreciated. Thanks

Hey Jeff -

I would program them on a lower body day. While technically they are a full body movement I consider them a lower body movement.

You could just go light, medium, heavy in three week waves with them to keep in line with the l/m/h weeks in 5/3/1. Or you could actually use 5/3/1 with your farmers. I used in my 5/3/1 for strongman article here(http://articles.elitefts.com/training-articles/kentucky-strong-531-for-strongman/).

Hope that helps and let me know if you have any more questions.

Thanks,
Chase Karnes
