Dave - now that you've got the bloat on and have been using rest-pause sets are you noticing any good gains from this training method? I have heard that DC style training produces results, but what are your thoughts thus far? Would you use this training style to diet as well or do you prefer the higher volume stuff that you did previously. Thanks for giving us insight to your training. It's great to see someone enjoy training as you do, try and experiment with various methods and give us your no bullshit thoughts about it. Actually all the contributors on your site I commend.
For me to answer this would be like asking someone who trained Westside for one month what they thought about it.
So my answer is coming from my gut and not experience.
First, I would not say I am using DC training ( I am using some ideas from it). If you really read about it you will see it is a full protocol including diet, weight training, stretching and cardio. I am using some of the weight training stuff. Right now I am eating like a slob but will follow Justin's advice again very soon.
Would I use this while dieting?
I don't think so. When dieting I am more concerned with burning calories so I can eat more. With the high volume work I am in the gym longer doing more sets. I am not 100% sure but if this was cut in half I would have to burn the calories elsewhere or reduce them. I can drop weight very fast so I like to keep the calories high to keep full.
For now it seems to be working very well but I have a ton of things happening right now that can acct for this. I like what I am doing and stick with longer to see what happens.
