Will It Ever Stop Raining??
Geez Louise, it's rained all week! I know the crops need it, but with the kind of outdoorsy work I do, I'll be lucky not to catch pneumonia. Anywhoo, it's been a big week for me. Sunny, the brand new truck I bought last week, is almost ready to put on the road. Startup expenses are wringing me out right now, but in the long run the warranty will cancel out the outrageous repair costs I was paying with Turd.
This week the workouts have been ridiculous. A couple nights ago I was in the gym for over two hours working shoulders and tri's. I've been changing things up and doing some heavy doubles and singles work, which will hopefully pay off on my shirted bench press here soon. I'm tempted to see where my gear numbers are, but it's just too soon. I need to build my raw foundation strength before I really push it in my shirt.
Tonight is chest and tri's; here's a brief rundown. For the record, I have never been a big raw bencher. I have only in the last year really graduated to repping 135, and only recently been able to successfully complete a 5x5. So, imagine how pleased I was when 185 came up like a rocket tonight? Very, very pleased...
I must attribute this success in part to my Spike Shotgun. I was a bit drained going into the workout tonight, and those things help a lot with the intensity of my workouts.
Bench 5x5 @ 135; 155x3, 165x3, 175x2, 185x1 (I was SUPER psyched about this. I would love to see 315 in a meet. My heavy shoulder training is apparently paying off.) Hammer DB Curls 3x8 Incline DB Press 4x6 Cable Rope Curls 3x10 Decline Cable Fly 3x8 Reverse Curls 3x12 Bosu Pushups 4xFailure (Which wasn't many) "Run The Rack" 4xFailure (Which was equally lackluster)
