As I move in 2010 I first need to reflect. 2009 has been great for me in terms of lifting. I have been a yo-yo lifter/dieter since college. I haven't been consistent eating of exercising since. My weight fluctuates between 250 and 315lbs (6'1") and so does my strength.

In 2008 I got serious about trying to lift at 35 when I had put on my bucket list that I wanted to bench 405. I had been sporadically lifting and could max about 315. So I did a the critical bench program and almost got 365 on the final week but hurt my shoulder. In the past that would have derailed me.
Not this time for all of 2009 I have kept it up. I dropped my weights down and focused on reps. Then in July after feeling better I moved to DeFranco's Skinny Bastards and have loved it. I am setting records every week having done 325x4 on bench, 100x20 on DB Incline, 415x5 on squat, and 405x2 on deadlift. All are substantial better then I have ever done before.

I am planning to compete in a Raw meet before thanksgiving to see how a competition goes and set some official numbers I can improve on.

So for 2010 I want to build on that momentum. I am currently weighing 301 lbs but healthy as at my last physical my doctor told me he never saw someone so healthy have all their test normal. But I do feel like it restricts me interacting with my kids. I have 4 under the age of 8 and it sure is hard to play with them when you weigh that much as my nimbleness is lacking.

For 2010 my goals are to continue my training and not fall into bad habits.

1)I will final hit my 405 Bench press goal.
2)I will squat 500 lbs
3)I will dead lift 500 lbs
4)I will be able to do 10 chin ups
5)I want to drop my weight down to 272 by March and 255 by the end of July and maintain that weight for the rest of the year.

I also want to dunk a basketball this year. I have wanted to do it since high school and have been very close.

It is going to be a great year!
