WPC worlds Bournemouth 2009
saturday 21st of november - 1st place 90kg class
Arrived on the friday morning to weigh in, hit 89.6kgs on the scale. Put my openers at squat 320kg, bench 225kg and deadlift 307.5kg.
I was late arriving and had to warm up in about 15 minutes. For warm ups I went 70kg, 150kg, 200kg, 250kg and 280kg in briefs and wraps.
I opened wth my planned opener of 320kg, felt good. Then for my second I went 360kg, it was high but came up easy. Took a small jump to 370kgs on my third and got it nice and deep for three whites.
For bench, I warmed up with bar, 60kg, 100kg, 120kg, 140kg then shirt 170kg to a 3 board, 180kg to a 2 board, then 190kg to a 1 board.
Dropped my opener a little to 220kg, went good pulled my shirt up and touched lower to get the bar to touch. For my second attempt went 235kgs touched a little higher to get more out of my Ace shirt, came up nice. For my third I went for 245kgs went for the same spot as the 235kg and I couldnt get enough out of the shirt failed at lockout and moved my but off the bench. I will need about 270/280kg to get a touch higher on the shirt but I will get more out of it with practice. The Ace shirt is the best I have used.
For deadlifts, I warmed up a little early and I suffered a little. Went 60kg, 100kg, 140kg, 180kg, 220kg and 250kg.
Dropped my opener to 300kg to get into the first place spot. 300kgs came up easy, the deadlift bar was fantastic. For my second I went 315kg and i came up ok. For my third I went 325kg and got it. I fnd cutting even a little weight makes me flat towards the end of the day on the deadlift. I did eat a lot of bananas during the day and I used a lot of gatorade helped a lot.
Happy with my lifting but plenty of room for improvement, finished with 930kg total.
