Trying to keep the volume low today to save myself for deadlift on Monday.

Had a good Thanksgiving yesterday. My family always eats out at a restaurant, but I decided to save the cheat meal that Shelby gave me for afterwards. I remember the portions not being that big (especially of deserts) and I didn't really care for anything on the Prix Fix menu. I've been eating 99% lean ground turkey meat 3 times a day for the last week, so I really didn't care to have Turkey again.

Shelby gave me 60 minutes for the cheat meal, so I tried to get all my favorites in. I went to the 2nd Avenue Deli, a famous Jewish deli near my parents house. I got a lean corned beef on rye with mustard, lettuce, and tomato, a small container of chopped liver (it's so unbelievably good from here), and 3 small chocolate chip cookies. I put the cookies in the microwave with a piece of pecan pie and put it on top of a pint of Ben and Jerry's ice cream. Then I had a small piece of pumpkin pie and apple crumb pie. I felt so unbelievably uncomfortable as I got all this down within half an hour. I sat on the Lazy Boy for the next 20 minutes and in the last 10 minutes I had about half a box of wheat thins.

I think passed out for about an hour. I only got 3 meals in other than the cheat meal because I was so unbelievably stuffed.

I think that a diet like this changes the way I taste food. I feel like I stopped tasting it and started just pounding it. I believe I could have went without a cheat meal, but thought I should take one anyway. Once Shelby gave me the go-ahead, the wheels started turning in my mind. I find that taking a cheat meal definitely makes my cravings come back a bit more, but this should settle in a week or so.

I'm starving from the metabolic jumpstart and the stomach stretching of this meal. I have a feeling this might be my last true cheat meal for the next 6 weeks.

The first photo is from after the sandwich and before the sweets.

The second is one that my dad took of me and my buddy passed out on the couch.

I need more veins,
Matt McGorry
