A Day in the Life (diet and training)

Just thought I'd list a full day of eating, supplements and training during one of my low-carb days at 5.5 weeks out from my first bodybuilding show. Here goes;

Supplements
2 caps of Metabotrop before morning cardio
2 caps in evening

5mg of Yohimbine HCL every few hours x 4

20 grams of fish oil spread over 6 meals

3 grams creatine in one shake

5 grams leucine in one or two shakes

AM Cardio

60 minutes of incline treadmill walking while Watching "Mean Streets"(approximately 4 mph on a 4-5 degree incline)

Meal 1

-5oz 99% lean ground turkey w/tsp of fat-free pasta sauce
-1 slice cinnamon raisin Ezekiel bread
-2oz of yam chips (home-made with cinnamon, salt, splenda, and pam)

Meal 2

-2.25 scoops casein protein (half choc/vanilla)
-1/2 cup oatmeal
(put in protein, mixed in shaker cup)

Meal 3

-5oz 99% lean ground turkey w/tsp of fat-free pasta sauce
-3/4 cup of tomato lentil couscous (boxed brand, Near East)

Meal 4

-2.25 scoops casein protein (half choc/half vanilla)
-1 tbs of natural peanut butter

PM Cardio

25 minutes of incline treadmill walking (w/music only)

I vary the difficulty here and go as high as 12-15 degrees of incline and between 4-4.2mph, but never lower than a 4/4

Meal 5

-4oz bison steak medallions (very lean)
-1oz 99% ground turkey
-2 cups of frozen brocolli
-1 tbs of natural peanut butter
-1 tsp soy sauce

Meal 6

-1.75 scoops choc casein
-1 tbs natural peanut butter w/ a little splenda (tastes GOOOOOOOOOD!!!)
-3 slices of cold cuts (2 turkey, 1 ham) w/mustard
-1 sugar-free jello

The macro breakdown for low days is as follows;

Meals 1-3

45 grams of protein
30 grams of carbs

Meals 4, 5

45 grams of protein
1 tbs peanut butter
2 cups of veggies (sometimes I don't have time for the veggies when working and have to pound a shake)

Meal 6

50 grams of protein
8 grams of fat (usually peanut butter)

Also not included is a coffee (black with splenda), half a pack of sugar-free Orbit gum, a 20oz Fanta Zero, a 20oz Fresca, and a few cups of Diet 7up

After the second cardio session today, I practiced some posing, and felt like I looked really quite lean. When the weight isn't moving down, I get a little worried, but I still think I'm continuing to get leaner, and Shelby agrees as well.

can't wait for more yam fries tomorrow,
Matt McGorry
