BBing Competition Results w/photos

My apologies that I've taken so long to post the results. Obviously, on Sunday I was too tired and still dehydrated to worry about posting. And then Monday, I was too bloated and ravenous to post. And Tuesday, I was back to work and still pretty bloated. But enough of the excuses.

I'll start with the plain and simple.

I won first place in the men's overall and first place in overall for the whole competition.

I couldn't ask for any better results, so I'm happy as hell, needless to say.

On the other hand, I almost feel like I need to lose in order to feel that I competed in a tough competition. I have a strange mentality in regards to winning. In my mind, it's not that I was better than all of my competitors, but that my competitors weren't as good as me. I know that that sounds like the same thing, but to me, it's somehow different. I don't find enjoyment in beating those who aren't as good as me, but then again, how could I beat people who were better? Strange, I know. I'll leave that be for now, haha.

Overall, the competition was pretty small, since it was at an expo. There were 7 male and 7 female competitors if I remember correctly. Much of it was pretty disorganized unfortunately and there were a number of technical difficulties. But despite that, I had a TON OF FUN. Being an on-stage performer, I was really able to work the crowd and I think that was really advantageous for me in the end. There was a pretty big crowd during most of the competition as well, since people came over from the various other sporting events that were happening in order to watch.

I'm going to get more in-depth into the last few days before the competition in a separate article. But in short, 1 and 2 days out were a breeze, and the day of the competition was really uncomfortable. As was the day after. Stay tuned for a more in-depth write-up.

Gained about 15-20lbs in post competition bloat, mainly from water. Now, I've got 19 days till the deadlift only at the Raw Unity Meet. My legs still feel pretty tired, but I'm jumping back into my first lower body workout today. If I feel like I'm not going to kill myself in the process, I'm planning on working up to a couple singles at 90% today.

And as far as I know right now, I'm still planning on competing at 165lb for Raw Unity.

Start it up!,
Matt McGorry
