Competed this weekend
Missed 850 as an opener, had touch trouble if you can believe it. Got whites on a somewhat shakey 850 for my second. Took 900 for a third and it was a no go. It was a really well run meet. Morgan Mitchell of the UPC did a great job along with Scott Taylor of the APA. They started on time and took only long enough breaks between the squat, bench, and deadlift to change out the platform. Thx to everyone else who worked the meet. Those things are hard to run and pretty thankless.
Regarding my performance, I do have to say I have become somewhat of a gym Diva. I am used to benching with some pretty expensive bench bars. I don't necessarily think the bar there was made for that kind of benching. Not many are. Felt a lot of whip in the bar and it definitely rolled in my hands once or twice. The cool thing is the meet director Morgan asked me about it and already wants to effort a solid bench bar. Clearly, he cares about the lifters.
I also need to report Jessica completed her first meet. She competed as a raw 148'er. She went 8 for 9. She finished with a 265 squat (which by the way, ranks her top 20 in the squat). She got a 130 bench and a big 300 lb pull. Some really solid numbers for her first meet. Great job Jessica.
Thanks to my training partners Rhodes, Karsten, Josh, Tee, Drew, Jason for your help today. Also thanks to Brian who did not make it, but has been a big help as well. Of course my sponsors EliteFTS and AtLargeNutrition rock! All the guys and girls from team EliteFTS who have been so supportive.
Crap, I was just going to make a quick post. I could have probably editied up the vid by now. However, I am beat and that will have to come another day.
