Chain Gang Squats via Dave Tate VIDEO

Well, I've been fairly bored with my squats for a good while and after speaking with Dave Tate about it on Wednesday evening and he suggested moving to chains for a good 5-6 week cycle. His suggestion was to not let the chains touch the ground when I pick up the weight. This would be like anti-bands since the bands almost act like a machine and they "ground me". The swinging chains will force me to hold my arch, control the weight more, and be something "new".

I'd spent most of the night getting up and down and running to the toilet. I wouldn't have trained but Dave had spent some time putting together this program so at the LEAST I needed to go to the gym and figure out my chain length.

His suggestion was to use the most amount of chains that I could deal with. I used TWO sets of 110 lb set chains. He had suggested to just use the week as a session to figure out how I wanted to set things up, but since things went well I just set it up as a light % and did my 8 sets of 2 reps with 60 seconds rest between.

It was my 2nd week in a row to get a SEVERE neck and headache during my sets. This week it was during set 2...then I dropped set 3. I took it easy for the rest of the day.

I wasn't able to set up the chains so they were completely off the ground. Since I have to swing out my weight, using 220 lbs swinging would throw me all over the place...and it still

unloaded and reloaded the bar...iced, went again
Finished and got all 8 sets!
