This week training, diet tips, cardio, and kickball
Ok. it's a deload. I have been doing my cardiac and recovery work. Foam rolling, ART, contrast showers, treadmill, etc. Actually the treadmill died. Go figure it was while I was on it. So I have been doing my cardiac work on an airdyne.
Here's a good diet tip, wait to eat until whatever you have is going to taste like the best meal you have ever had. I fast for the first five hours of the day, so I'm plenty hungry by that first meal. Today it was chicken and veggies. Well, as I was stirring it after I took it out of the microwave some peapods and broccoli fell to the floor (it was a dirty floor at work otherwise I would have 3 second ruled it). I just about cried. I never thought I'd be so sad to miss out on veggies.
Last but not least, kickball. I played kickball with my students and nearly broke my ankle and tore my groin on the first play. I was stumbling head first toward the ground and to keep from losing my front teeth I make an awkward leap forward. I think I'd almost rather lose the teeth than screw up my training for the upcoming meet. Note to self, no more kickball before 3/31.
