Hit and Be Hit: A Story of 4-Year-Olds and Hot Wheels
As a father not only do I have so much to learn but I have so much that I have to TEACH a young boy before he becomes a man. Teaching someone else is the most scary thing that you will do in life. Raising a child...that child never gets that day of learning back in his life, so if I ruin it then I've wasted a day of his life. A day he could have spent learning, getting better.
As fathers, we look at how we were raised and we want to teach our children all of the good things that we learned as children and we want to spare them from all the tough things that we went through.
I'm trying to teach my son that hitting is not cool, being hit is not cool, every action has a reaction (some very negative), and once you express yourself you will feel better. Also, it is my hope that he will decide to do all of his hitting in the ring and choose to win his fights outside the ring with words and positive actions.
Just a learning day in my life, and my son's.
