5/1 DB Press

Today is my first day working towards the Europa Strongman in Connecticut at the end of June. I'm locking in the diet and expect to compete at a lean (relatively) 325 pounds. Look for some diet info from me soon.

Today was dedicated towards the DB Single Arm Press. I need to press a 200# DB for maximum reps in 60 seconds. My goal is 8+ at the competition.

1) DB Press

Started with 170 and did...1. Dropped down to 150 and did 5, 6 and 7 reps in 1 minute each. There is certainly a learning curve to the balance on this event and I felt like I really improved from set to set. I think next week I'll go up to 165 and should be good there.

2) Special Overhead Lockout Work

Got some special exercises from my boy Josh Bryant, that he has asked me not to share with anyone else, sorry. They were hard though and I have great faith in Josh that these will really help me out.

3) Dips

BWx5, 20x5, 40x5, my triceps/shoulder were shot by this time

4) Wide Leg Situps-3x8 with 10# behind head. I had planned to do Ab Wheel here but my shoulders wouldn't have been able to hold up.
