One year knee report

Today is the one year anniversary of the 2011 Newport OR Highland Games and the fateful day I totally demolished my knee and totally fucked up what little athletic career I still had left. I have really been through a lot of lower extremity bullshit these past twelve months and my knee is still way far from healed 100% (as seen in today’s photo). Oh well. Fuck it, onward and upward, I can’t let having two different shaped legs stop me from dominating life.

I really didn’t exactly set the gym on fire today, But I want to pull well this Friday with my guys so I’m trying to keep my legs and back kind of fresh.

Pull/pull/hang snatch: worked up to 100kgs, backed it down to 85x6x2

Front squats (onto low box): worked up to 120kg x 2, 90x5x8

Leg extensions: 3 light sets

Standing abs: 4x8

Let’s file this story in the “what would YOU do?” category: I had a call from a member of my gym while I was training, he started off by saying that he really hadn’t been to the gym in four months and I’m assuming that he is going to tell me he wants to cancel his automatic withdrawal membership. But then he said that he really MEANT to cancel it four months ago but just forgot and could he have his last four months dues back. Now as much as I love to please and accommodate all of my members I really don’t like to just take $180 of money that’s rightfully mine and just throw it out the window . . . especially when I really don’t have to. I’d like to see the laughter after that phone call if he had tried to get his four months back at LA Fitness or The Planet.
