Tuesday Legs

Me and the kid squatted today, I must say I have been feeling pretty good this week so far so I had a pretty productive workout with no major injuries to report.

I worked up to a max single with 215kgs (473lbs). Walking out and setting it up with my dodgy knee and ankle was by far the hardest part of the lift for me. I dunked it and stood up with it fast. I have always been a leaner when I squatted and I felt myself getting folded over a little more than I wanted to be. I need to get the bar about 2” lower on my back next time. I don’t want find myself dwelling in that exciting area somewhere between Steve Goggins and a taco shell.

The kid missed his max single of 205kgs twice but only because of technical issues due to the fact that he is eight feet tall. But I am happy to report that he was gone from a 225lb bench press to 300lbs since January since training with my Iron Sport method.

After the single I backed it down 80% (170kgs) and did 3 sets of 5

GH raise with heavy band tension: 4 sets of 8 hellish reps

Standing abs: 4 sets of 10

Then this afternoon, as I’m trying to wrap my head around the fact that I’m working till midnight tonight and how much it’s going to blow, I get a text from Amy Wattles who within two texts of us exchanging pleasantries declared, “U used to be fun zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz” . She didn’t even let me get going, I was just about to hit her with some major league entertainment and she totally cut me off. Oh well, her loss. I guess I’ll have to look for a new texty besty . . . any takers out there?
