Monday stuff 3-15-13
Busy busy busy day around the old gym lately. I have hardly had time to write, train or make my super awesome videos. It seems like I have people coming out of the woodwork to do training sessions with us which is an awesome things. I love spending ninety minutes or so with someone and sending them home a MUCH better lifter than when they came in. From now on I will be dishing the olympic lifting clients off to my girl Zelyx and I will handle the people that want powerlifting and strongman sessions. She is an amazing lifting coach and coaches with so much positive energy whereas I coach using negativity and ridicule. SO you get the best of both worlds here.
Today the WWE was in Philly for Monday night Raw and we probably had twenty wrasslers here throughout the day. a few weeks ago I had been contacted by a local women via Facebook named Diane. She went on to tell me that she has a son with Downs syndrome who is a wrestling fanatic but can't attend the matches because the crowds and activity freak him out too much. She had heard I know some of the wrestlers and asked me if I could maybe get an autograph picture of one of the guys or something some day for her son. I told her I would try to hook her up if I could. Today my good friend Glen (WWE superstar Kane) popped in and I asked him if he could meet this kid and let him get a picture with him and of course he said it was fine. I gave the mother a call and asker her if she could bring her son down here because I had something for her not telling her he was about to meet Kane. By the time they showed up we had every major WWE guy down here training. They all stopped their workouts to talk to Michael and take pictures with him and his family and he was just bursting with the biggest smile you ever saw. One of them even came back after he had left to bring me a bunch of cool WWE swag for him so he was really hooked up.
I really can't say enough about the many men and women I have met from the WWE over the past 18 years since I have been here. They are always the most gracious athletes you ever want to meet and really respect and go out of their way for their fans. But in that business I guess that's what it's all about.
I have some cool pictures from today but the EFS site is not letting us post pictures right now due some glitch or something. Bummer.
In amongst all the commotion I had the chance to get in a quickie chest and triceps workout.
Flat bench: worked up to a heavy triple and did five high-rep down sets
Incline flyes: 5 sets with tons of stretch
Triceps push-downs with spud short strap: 6 sets till failure.
