Back in the shirt!

This past Monday at Apollon I had my first shirt session since The Arnold.

The goal was to touch in my new size 52 Metal Ace Pro Bench Shirt, which is a size up from the one I've been competing in. I've had great success with my old one, but I'm on the verge of outgrowing it and need to start working in a new one before it gets too small.

Since I've lost almost 20 lbs since the meet, I figured I should be able to touch easily.

Worked up like so:

Raw

95 x 5
135 x 5
185 x 1
225 x 1
275 x 1
315 x 1 - Not hard, but I could REALLY feel the eight loss on this one, lol

Put the shirt on

3 board - 405 x 1
2 board - 455 x 1
1 board - 495 x 1
touch - 545 x 1

Touched and pressed very cleanly, but I could tell that with the larger shirt and smaller me, I wansn't getting nearly the carryover I was from Black Beauty (my old Ace).

I'm probably going to have the arms taken in a bit, but the chest plate feels perfect. I'm going to give it a few more sessions before I do anything to it.

After the benching, I did some standing OH presses. I felt pretty strong on them, but my left shoulder was giving me grief and it felt like someone was shoving an ice pick into the joint on each rep.

I worked up to 185 x 3 (with a pause at the bottom) before tapping out.

Finished with some dumbbell rows lying on an incline bench and cable pushdowns.

Good to finally be training constantly again!
