Board Presses

Last Monday I did board presses at Apollon. (I'm running about a week late on my log but I'm catching up!)

Decided to do triples because I know my top end strength is a bit down and I wanted to build a little more volume then singles would allow.

Warmed up and went up like so:

Full range (very close grip)

Bar x a bunch
95 x 5
135 x 5
185 x 3
225 x 3
275 x 3

Added 2-board (kept the close grip)

315 x 3
335 x 3
365 x 2

The second rep with the 365 was a grind and I knew that it was all I had.

For more top-end work, I went to pin presses next. I used a lower pin then usual to really work my transition point. Don't remember the pin but it was at about the halfway point. This was hard!

225 x 3
275 x 3
315 x 3
365 x 3

Finished with some chest supported rows with the cambered bench bar while leaning over an incline bench. Kept my elbows out, which limited the amount of weight I could use but really hit the rear delt/rhomboid area.

135 x 4 x 10.

That's all for now... starting to feel somewhat strong again, but nowhere near where I'll need to be to start training for something.
