Last week's squats and benching.

Combining the squat and bench logs from last week to make room for my LTTS write-up which should be done in a day or so. The weekend away (plus the subsequent recovery) got me a bit behind. This post should get me on track though.

Sun (5/12) was a speed squat day at Eastside. Since a few of our guys are getting ready for a meet, the band tension was high, with an average and strong band. The goal was at least 6 worksets of doubles.

After warming up, I wound up doing 5 doubles at 380 and one single with 420. Everything moved well and I had a feeling that I was going to have a good day at The Compound the next week (spoiler alert, I did)

My favorite moment of the session was when I laid a nasty fart right before unracking the weight on one of the speed sets. Poor paper got a nice snoot full of it and gave me crap about it (so to speak) while I re-racked the bar.





Despite the apparent intense hatred, Paper really likes me... honest.


Monday was a bench day at Apollon. My goal was just to work up raw on a 2 board.

After warm-ups up to 275 full-range, I added the board and went:

315 x 1
356 x 1
385 x 1
405 x 1
425 x miss - got it most of the way up, but just couldn't lock my left elbow.

Finished with some hammer strength chest supported rows.
