Doing cardio with 700lbs With Video

Sunday was a scheduled suit day at Eastside. Since I had already put full gear on at LTTS two weeks before, I decided to do something a little different and work up to a heavy triple (cardio). I also thought that this would be a good chance to try my Jack briefs under my new Ace suit.

I haven't done full-gear triples in years, but I've always felt they're great for technique and mental toughness.

Worked up like this:

Bar x a bunch
150 x 5
260 x 3

Put the brief on
350 x 3
440 x 3

Added suit, straps down

530 x 3

straps up
620 x 3
700 x 3

The first rep with 700 was high, but the second and third got progressively further down. 700 is still light for this gear combo, but I'm pretty sure that I can break parallel with 750ish.

After the squats, it was time to pull. I've really been babying my back due to some nagging hip/back issues, but I felt like pushing it a bit and go for a true opener-range pull (not a light opener/last warmup).

Pulled 585, which is what I opened with at the last meet, and it moved really well. It felt a little goofy off the floor, but once I broke it off, it was an easy lift.

Here's the video of both:

Did some glute bridges to try and exercise some damage control with my back, and that was all.
