Wednesday June 5, Deadlift day With/video
This is my second week of what I might call my off season workouts. At least that's what I used to call them when I had a plan to compete, I would take time in between competition cycles to work on weak areas of my lifts that need to be addressed in order to maximize my meet training cycle. On deadlifts I'm mainly working on my speed off the floor. And over much of my experience I have found that deficit deadlifts do the trick. I look for my speed to improve some but not as much as it used to when I was much younger. If a lifter is really serious about his or her progress they should always work on weak points in off season as well as in early stages of a competition training cycle.
Stretched and rolled and hung on inversion table before starting to warm up on deads.
Started with 3 inch deficits off a block.
