A couple of big PRs With Video

Yeah, I know, my log is running behind again. The new job has been a little time-consuming (but fun), so I've been having a hard time keeping up with it. On the flip-side, the training itself has been awesome.

Last Sunday was a ME squat day with the cambered squat bar.

I wound up working up to a single with 750, which is not only a pr with this bar, but it's the most I've ever squatted off a box with any bar.

I would have posted a video, but it was hot in the basement and I had to take my shirt off to prevent the bar from slipping. No one needs to see this. I look like a big hairy bar of soap.

Monday was a bench day at Apollon gym. I wanted to work up on a two board just for the sake of getting some weight in my hands. My pr on the 2-board is 675, but I had no intention of getting anywhere near that. Anything over 600 was the goal.

Since I want to use my meet shirt (Ace) sparingly, I decided to use the Jack on the boards. I really didn't expect much, since I haven't had much success in the Jack shirt.

For some reason, everything felt super light, and I we just kept slapping on the 45s and 25s. Next thing I knew, I was at 725.

725 is a 50lb pr on the 2-board, and 25 more then my 3-board pr. Come to think of it, it's the most weight I've ever heald in my hands.

Now I will be the first to admit that a 2-board record doesn't mean shit, and that the only weight that matters is what I can lift full range. Still, a 50lb pr is hard to ignore, so of course I'm going to have to give the pumpkin shirt another go.
