I went out this morning with my girl Nikita to get some highland games practice in. Of course due to be so tight and rusty I popped my freaking hamstring putting the stone. Now it feels like I'm sitting on a big lump up under my glute. I only have one word to describe how I feel . . . STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID AND STUPID. I should have just left well enough alone. Meanwhile Nikita is doing an amazing job. She has all the tools to be a great thrower and picks up the events really quick. It really halps that she is young and supple and not old and brittle like me. Trust me it certainly is NOT because I'm a good coach by any means because I suck as a coach. I can't wait to see her do damage at this meet next week.
I came back to the gym and had exactly one hour to get in a quickie shoulder and biceps pump.
Standing presses: I just put 135lbs on the bar and just added two reps on each set.
8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20
Dumbbell side raise supersetted with front plate raise: 3 sets of 15/15
Rear delt burners supersetted with upright rows: 3 sets of 40/15
Preacher curl machine: 6 sets of 20, last three sets were drop downs
Cable curls with rope: 6 sets till failure
Off to Iowa tomorrow morning for a speaking engagement. I'm sure I'll have some good stories and pictures for you all when I get back from this fiasco. After this is over I'm either going to be the new Tony Robbins or the new Baskin Robbins.
