Squats w/Video

I am currently training for The 2014 Arnold Amateur Strongman Fitness World Championships. This will be held at The Arnold Sports Festival Feb. 28th through March 2nd in Columbus, Ohio. I’ll be competing in the Lightweight 185# division.

Things are a little hectic this week. I’m just getting settled in from traveling combined with work, starting my diet for the Arnold (shopping/food prep) and with the prime time of deer season upon us here in Kentucky – I’ve been going non-stop.
I do plan to have a full write up from LTT-7 up by this weekend – as it was a lot of fun. I’ll also be writing a future column on some common things I saw with lifters at LTT-7 that hopefully will help some of you.

Today’s training I planned to squat and that was it. My goal was to go in and hit a PR – then call it a day. And that’s just what I did.

I did squat in knee wraps for the first time ever today.

If you’ve read my article on programming the year for strongman you know that typically after a contest or Nationals I like to test some lifts and just have some fun with training and try new things/lifts/etc. No specific programming for a week or two before I get back in the swing of things for whatever I’m training for next. And that’s just what this week is.
