Axle Press and Farmers PRs w/Video

I am currently training for The 2014 Arnold Amateur Strongman Fitness World Championships. This will be held at The Arnold Sports Festival Feb. 28th through March 2nd in Columbus, Ohio. I’ll be competing in the Lightweight 185# division.

Got my diet started last Monday in preparation for The Arnold. Training wise I'm just going in and having fun before beginning my actual prep for The Arnold. The past few weeks I've just made sure to deadlift, squat, press and carry something. And I've also been testing some lifts as I typically do this after Nationals or a big contest. Strongman doesn't typically have max events - it's typically more max reps with heavy weight. So it's nice to see where I'm at on some things.

I trained with two of my clients Saturday. Ben Redfield who is a 17 year old stud and future strongman competitor. And Bo Bakenhaster who's a 49 years old strongman competitor who took 7th at Masters Nationals last year with less than 1 year of strongman training.

We worked up to heavy singles on Axle and then hit some heavy farmers. We all three hit PRs on Axle and Bo and myself hit a nice PR on farmers. All in all it was a good day.
