DL/Grip

My training is now shifting a bit with more grip and less strongman. A major goal I continue to chase is to be the first woman in the world to certify on the Captains of Crush 2.5 gripper. I lay claim to being the first woman ever to close the 2.5. But like lifting it doesn’t count what happens in training, it matters on game day. My return to grip training is in preparation for The Visegrip Viking Challenge & All American Mas Championship in January.

In strongman I recently qualified for the Women World Championships 2013 in Finland along with the Grip Classic Finals. I have also qualified for the Arnold. At this point I am uncommitted to a decision regarding my participation in any other competition than Visegrip Viking Challenge & the Mas Championship.

Today there was tremendous difficulty meeting any target numbers or rep schemes. I continue to learn how to manage heavy grip training along with my normal lifting. Heavy grip training drains my tank quicker than anything.
