This and that, plus a question for everyone on raw vs geared lifting.
Nothing of substance since Monday this week, The cycle starts on Sunday, and I want to feel fresh and healthy going into it. A little rest was just what I needed. I'm feeling so good right now that I'm starting to worry about what my body might be planning just to f*ck with me.
So it's been all assistance stuff like light goodmornings, back extensions, ab work, ring push-ups and band pushdowns. I promise I will go into MUCH more detail starting next week.
So on to my question.
Over the last few years, there's been a huge increase in raw lifters at most of the meets I've attended. At RPS meets, which are popular in my area, it's not uncommon to have 100+ lifters, with 80-90 percent of them being raw. This is in stark contrast to the multi-ply meets I attended years ago, where almost everyone was geared.
So raw lifters are clearly the majority (at least at the meets I attend). But what I'm wondering is if this is because geared lifting is shrinking? or has raw just grown with the addition of way more lifters?
Either way, the fact that I am seeing so many lifters at the grassroots level is awesome! This is just something I am curious about.
