Week 13/20 XPC Arnold - Monday, Bench work with VIDEO

Bench:
335x1
425x2
Added shirt
515x1 – 3bd
605x1 – 2bd
745x1 – 1bd
805x1 – half – opener
850x1 – 2bd
850x1 – 2bd

Close grip pause press:
275x5
315x5 – 2 sets

Band skull: 3x20
Band fly: 3x20

Everyone had a really good night on the gym, and everyone had a productive session. The guys were going heavy 3bd’s and I opted out since I had to skip last weeks bench session due to my forearm hurting. I think everyone hit PR’s off the high boards, I stuck with low boards. After I hit what I had in mind, I went to 850 off the 2bd. It felt like crap, as I couldn’t get in a good position to take the handoff.


My shirt is a LOTA bit loose, but all in all, not a bad position to be in at 7 weeks out. Once it tightens up, I will have a lot more support. Strength feels good, but now, I think that I’m behind where I should be, opposed to a month ago, I thought I was ahead! Never happy.. My arm bothering me the last few sessions on bench has pissed me off, but staying healthy IS the hardest part of being a good lifter for the long haul.


I’m going to hammer my arms and chest over the next few weeks to stay ahead of the game, and keep everything feeling fresh as possible. Again, this pisses me off but its motivating. I also have my left arm lagging a little bit at lockout as you can see on the video, I need to stick my lockout better, and not press the weight too far.
