Squats & Breaking in my new EliteFTS Safety Squat Bar

I am currently training for the task of becoming a new dad while balancing training, work, buying a new house, moving and life... While preparing for my next competition, St. Louis' Strongest Man. This will be held on May 10th. I’ll be competing in the Lightweight 231# division. I also will also be defending my title as St. Louis' Strongest Man 2013.



I'm getting into my new program and really looking forward to it. I hit squats and SSB squats yesterday. Before the session was even over I was already getting sore. My quads were blown. It feels good to finally kick up the volume a bit. Went pretty light overall, but the increased volume and the fact I haven't back squatted since December (used front squats during my peaking for The Arnold) it didn't take much.

I was starving after this. Finished up with a protein/carb shake, then an 8 oz. Sirloin. Then once I got home I had 2 pieces of pizza as a appetizer as I cooked a 12 oz. NY Strip and a ton of rice. It's nice to be able to eat some more food again...
