I How How To Do One Thing Well: Build A Deadlift
I will have to admit, I felt beat up. I slept bad, I ached, I hurt, I stretched, I massaged and foam rolled, I even came to the gym with a back up plan to deload!
Deloading is the safe thing to do but it isn't part of THE PROGRESSION that I need right now and my friend and client Kostas wanted to at least warm up on deadlifts as well.
As I warmed up, I felt better...
416 x 1
506 x 1
618 x 5..Recent PR (equals out to a 330/726 1RM)
I am on target and I know that my training is working. My circa max phase is pretty much over as far as box squats go so I will need to keep the bands/chains present without getting beat up on Sundays. I will also need to increase my GHR and Good Morning work as well. Hamstrings, ABS, and lower back combined with technique and speed...and you will see me pull 750 this Summer SAFELY.
Angelos did a Weightlifting Deadlift which is crazy hard! Shoulders out in front, lots of legs. If you THINK that you have seen Weightlifters deadlift...THINK AGAIN!!!! A Weightlifter's deadlift has nothing to do with hip position but EVERYTHING to do with shoulder position!
Kostas just got warmed up on Wednesday, hoping for a big Friday!

And IF you are still reading, you can see here and from the video in slow motion that I use my abs to start almost every body movement that I do. This is great for Strongman and Powerlifting but probably terrible for Weightlifting because it makes me too tense.
