7 Weeks Out Nationals/9 Weeks Out England Event Day

I am currently training for The 2014 North American Strongman (NAS) National Championship as well as the Strongman Champions League (SCL) England u90kg. NAS Nationals will be held Oct. 4th & 5th in Reno, NV and the Strongman Champions League will be held Oct. 18th in Southampton, England. I'm also adjusting to raising a new baby boy while still working, training and living life.


Yesterday I started my final training phase to peak me for NAS Strongman Nationals as well as prepare me for Strongman Champions League (SCL) England u90kg. I’ve got 6 weeks of training followed by a deload week before Nationals, then a few days rest followed by a couple more training days before deloading before England. It’s not the perfect set up, but that’s fine with me. My main focus is on Nationals, but since there is some similarities in events between the two competitions programming for both wasn’t too complicated. I'm confident I can bring my best to both competitions.

It felt good to get back at it yesterday after a much needed deload week. I also got a nice full body massage in on Thursday and feel great going into this final phase. Overall I had a solid day yesterday, but more than anything was very pleased with how my keg/farmers/duck walk medley went. Events like these used to be my weaker events, but that’s not the case anymore.
