Deadlifts & Squat w/Video - 5 Weeks Out Nationals/7 Weeks Out England

I am currently training for The 2014 North American Strongman (NAS) National Championship as well as the Strongman Champions League (SCL) England u90kg. NAS Nationals will be held Oct. 4th & 5th in Reno, NV and the Strongman Champions League will be held Oct. 18th in Southampton, England. I'm also adjusting to raising a new baby boy while still working, training and living life.

I had a good training day yesterday. No PRs, but my deadlift programming is a short peaking phase at the moment so I'm just hitting my prescribed sets/reps. One interesting note is during my peaking phase before The Arnold the heaviest pull I hit was 580x3 and went on to pull 670 the week after The Arnold. This tells me my pull should be really solid here in a few weeks going into Nationals.

I'm still a little careful on squats as I can't afford to re-injur my quad. It's been doing great and I've been pain free for a while. I had a few more reps in me on these, but it wasn't worth pushing it as I'm getting very close to where I was when I injured it last time.

Overall I'm pretty happy with how things are coming together.
