Currently undergoing Chemotherapy to treat systemic Ulcerative Colitis as a last measure.
Squat, Weightlifting, CrossFit Training October 12 2014 from Clint Darden on Vimeo.
I got to the gym and stayed calm. My wife drove behind me and followed me to the gym so I could drive my own car...and we were late. People were actually waiting on us and I'm normally the first one there.
Staying calm I really felt like I could put something together today. I increased the folic acid (prescription) and it might just help with energy and nausea. My fingers felt MUCH better than they did on Friday before chemo even though they are still red.
Then I get under the bar and I just feel slow. I can't POP off of the box which is normally "my sign" that my squat and deadlift are up. If I come off the box slow then my strength is down. If I fly off of the box the first couple of inches then they are up. I did a lot of warm ups thinking I'd FIRE at any moment but I couldn't. At 3 plates plus bands I made the call to go high box and I picked 500 lbs in my head.
+ Onyx Heavy Bands
320 x 2 high box
320 x 2 normal box
410 x 2 high box
410 x 2 normal box
500 x 10 reps, high box (actually depth if I lose my arch)
Then I changed my clothes to do either log press or axle press (wanted both plus Atlas Stones) and I sat there and leaned against a wall from my chair for 2 1/2 hours. As everyone else packed up, I did 2 warm up sets on the axle and then decided to do the AC DC Method
Axle: AC DC Method: Walk All Over You
33 reps, strict, 2 inch Axle
70 kg / 154 lbs
My wife and Koula also did a conditioning program that nearly killed both of them. My wife may never do a burpee again.
