Thursday: Blood Tests and RC Cars
Currently undergoing Chemotherapy to treat Systemic Ulcerative Colitis as a last measure.
The last 2 weeks I have emailed dozens of people, talked to Doctors, Nurses, Pharmacists, Nutritionists, and to myself a lot. I have spent hours every day searching articles online on how to lower my liver enzymes.
This is where they were at 2 weeks ago:
289 and 125 are really not in the acceptable range. The 20 GGT that you see down below is a good indicator of actual liver health and liver disease. It is all I can take that is good out of this.
So for 2 weeks I stopped all herbal drinks that I've been taking, no pain relief medication at all, no muscle pain creams, 2-4x the dose of liver protection and milk thistle, B-12 injections daily AND I cut the dose of my chemo in half!
Thursday was my day to go again. My son was with me on Thursday so we headed out to the chemist and saw some classical Cyprus Parking while walking.
Had blood drawn, my son could not watch. He had to switch arms because my right arm is still bruised and very sore from 2 weeks ago.
Came home while waiting for the results and went on a walk with my son and his RC car. He has now decided he wants a REAL Hobby Grade RC Car...or Helicopter!
And this is me freezing cold in the Cyprus November Winter!
All of that just get these results. Very little change in my liver enzyme values.
This only becomes an issue because I need to run the chemo for 6 months straight, 1 month off for assessments and then possibly another 6 months of chemo as most of the positive therapy is being shown on a 13 month treatment plan to get me into remission. But if I end up at some point in liver failure or if the disease itself is spreading into my liver then what good has it all done me?
Adding on top of this, I really am in real pain. I can deal with a lot of pain but I have a great deal of pain through my upper arm bones, lower arm bones, upper thigh bones and through all of my pelvis that I can't put my finger on. I also can't take any pain medications because they either effect the liver directly or cause the chemo to change in the body (making the chemo even worse on my liver and kidneys).
I am looking at every alternative route that I can find. A lot of the possible treatments that COULD benefit me are not available here at this time.
We Press On,
