Currently undergoing Chemotherapy to treat Systemic Ulcerative Colitis as a last measure.
Deadlift and Presses Christmas Eve 2014 from Clint Darden on Vimeo.
It was Christmas Eve and my wife, God Bless Her, didn't say a thing when I said that I wanted to go train. I actually woke up from pain about 45 minutes earlier than usual and asked her to drive me to the store, I had something that Santa wanted to get for my son. She did, brought me back home, and helped me get ready for the gym.
my warm ups were off from the beginning to the end. I can get away with my technical issues with chains but I can't with straight weight over 700 lbs. I'm not pushing my knees/hips through my legs at the start (mental cue I use which gets my hams working) and it will cost me on a big straight weight pull.
At least I know what is going on!
630 + 180 chains x 1...PR of sorts
100 kg x 1
120 kg x 1
140/308 x 1...hurt like crazy but I got it
Actually it hurt, A LOT and I thought that I'd broken at least one arm in the process. I sat for about 5 minutes regaining the feeling in my upper arms and then went back to 100 kg x 3 reps push press
I don't think that I will be doing 150/331 anytime soon but in all reality if I can maintain a 140/308 log press for the next 10 years I should be more than happy!
That was about it!
Nicolas drove in and did about 10 working sets of squats!
