Mike, how's it going brother? Thinking back to your days at westside, how would you decide what your opening deadlift was considering how little you pulled? Also, when pulling from the floor, did you guys always employ the 3 week wave pendulum and then proceed on to a different phase?
The way I determined what I was going to open with is that I wanted to pull something easy to get on the board. My second attempt was always 5lbs over my best. My third attempt was for if something went wrong with my second or for another PR.
Thinking back to my Westside days, I didn't know of anyone that did any kind of 'wave' phase for their deadlift. We just determined our deadlifts by the way our max effort work and our circa max phase of squatting went.
